August is National Brownies at Brunch Month. If that seems weird to you, consider that brownies are in many ways a typical American hybrid food, part cake, part cookie, part candy bar. The brownie was first introduced at the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893, specifically for the purpose of conveniently fitting into visitors' boxed lunches. So why not brownies for brunch? Check out this gluten-free and vegan brownie recipe from Sister Pie that will not disappoint!
